From LEadership Director’s Message Artificial intelligence is often discussed in terms of what the technology itself can do. I believe an equally important question is what problems society needs it to solve. The world is confronting increasingly interconnected challenges \u2014 climate change, geopolitical instability, economic and energy insecurity, pressure on public institutions, demographic transformation, health risks and the erosion of social resilience. These challenges rarely belong to a single discipline, institution or country. Neither should our response. The UNU AI Hub was created with the ambition of bringing together academic research, international policy, technology, education and real-world implementation around these complex challenges.
